HLAA Position Opening: Development Manager

The Hearing Loss Association of America is seeking a development manager to work in the HLAA national office in Bethesda, Maryland. Position: Development Manager
Reporting to and in partnership with the executive director, the development manager will spearhead development efforts. The development manager will have the opportunity to build the development function.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute HLAA’s annual fundraising plan
  • Secure financial support from individuals, foundations and corporations
  • Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with major donors
  • Create and execute a strategy for a large sustained base of annual individual donors
  • Oversee organization of special fundraising events.
  • Work with the development committee of the Board of Trustees
  • Develop and track proposals and reports for all foundation and corporate fundraising

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5-plus years experience in development
  • Demonstrated excellence in organizational, managerial, and communication skills
  • Knowledge of Raiser's Edge

  • Ability to maintain a high level of poise and professionalism in all circumstances
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including strong negotiation skills and a proven ability to develop and maintain effective and positive working relationships
  • High energy, positive, “can-do” attitude, flexibility, teamwork, and strict attention to detail
  • Must be comfortable working in a close-knit, team environment where attitude and work ethic matters
